Our first day in our new bed (with the frame around the matress, that is) we where woken up by a call from The Netherlands; Harko!! (I can only remember one time when we where as surprised when he called- he knows what I mean)
They are really coming and we are really looking forward to it. We had a late breakfast, and then suddenly sped up; if we where quickly preparing a picknick, there might be time to visit a petstore, for Tjits' birthday present. Tjits worked hard filling bags with goodies, and then we went on our way to Amazing Amazon.
The guy in the store told us a lot about snakes, and recommended a certain species, which, if handled well, would be a nice snake. I stood drooling in front of the bearded dragons, such cute creatures, but that will come later. In the end, we couldn't not decide to take a snake. even though they are a lot dearer then we ever imagined. Tjitske is very happy with her new pet, but also a bit dissapointed that getting the licence will take two weeks. (and only then can we pick it up) But, her name is on the cage; and that is something to be proud of, as it took three attempts to write it right.
After the snake adventure we drove to the wrong boathouse in Yarra Bend park, where we didn't meet a group of Dutchies for a picknick. Luckily we had swopped mobile phone numbers, so a bit later we where at the right boathouse, and had a really gezellig afternoon, meeting people as crazy as we are, and one of them even went to the HML, my highschool! How weird is that!! (I keep meeting them everywhere) The lady with the sunglasses is a schoolmate...(amazing huh)
At home we tried to get the girls in bed in time, and failed miserably.
